Free Programs and Codes:

This page hosts all the free programs and codes I've worked on over the years.

ADONIS: A Free Finite element Program for Geo-Engineers

ADONIS ADONIS (ADvanced, Optimized, Nonlinear, and Incremental System) is a free plain strain finite element program developed specifically for deformation and stability analysis in geotechnical engineering problems. It is an easy-to-use yet powerful geotechnical-engineering tool for linear and nonlinear analysis of soil and rock behavior. It features a full graphical interface for pre and post-processing and uses an automated unstructured mesh generator to create complex finite element meshes. The graphical interface enables quick generation of complex finite element models, and the enhanced output facilities provide a detailed presentation of computational results. The analysis procedures are fully automated and based on robust numerical procedures. ADONIS supports a wide range of boundary conditions to model interactions between materials relevant to problems in geo-engineering. These include prescribed displacements, nodal forces, and pressure forces. Embedded scripting language in ADONIS enables the user to interact with and manipulate the models.

ADONIS is non-commercial and free to use. If you have questions or comments, please contact me at adonis4geo@outlook.com.

DXF2UDEC V1.0: Online Program to Import UDEC Geometry from DXF

DXF2UDEC is a free web-based program to import boundaries or support from a DXF file into UDEC. This Program has been written by javascript, html as well as php to make it available directly from the internet.

DXF2UDEC is non-commercial and free to use. If you have questions or comments, please contact me at roozbehg@live.com.

OTSA V1.0: Online Tunnel Support Analysis

OTSA is a free online program for determining a circular tunnel deformation, based on the simplified method using Mohr-Coulomb failure criterion as discussed in Hoek (1999). The Ground Reaction Curve (GRC) will be constructed from the elasto-plastic solution of a circular tunnel subject to a uniform far field stress and uniform internal pressure. Multiple support types (i.e. Steel set, shotcrete and rock bolt) have been provided. You may combine more than one support type in the same model.

OTSA is non-commercial and free to use. If you have questions or comments, please contact me at roozbehg@live.com.

GOOPO V1.1: Google Topography Query for Geo-Engineers

GOOPO is a free web-based program which uses Google Elevations API to provide elevation data across Earth. By feeding latitude and longitude, this program will return a list of data in the preferred format (text or dxf). This Program has been written by java, html as well as php to make it accessible directly from the internet.

GOOPO is non-commercial and free to use. If you have questions or comments, please contact me at roozbehg@live.com.

F2F: Free Software to Create 3D Mesh for FLAC3D

F2F is a free software to create Three Dimensional (3D) mesh for FLAC3D by extruding the 2D Finite Element elements. The 3-node Triangular and 4-node Quadrilateral plane elements can be extruded into wedge and brick solids respectively. F2F is written in C++ and it uses the Qt widget for its graphical interface. Please See this page  for downloading the software and getting more information on that.

ORMAS V1.0: Online Rock Mass Strength based on Generalized Hoek-Brown

ORMAS is a free software for determining rock mass strength parameters, based on the Generalized Hoek-Brown failure criterion. The first version of this program was written in matlab as part of a college project in my previous life and recently I decided to rewrite it by java, html as well as php to make it available directly from the internet.

ORMAS is non-commercial and free to use. If you have questions or comments, please contact me at roozbehg@live.com.

ORWA V1.0: Online Rock Wedge Analysis

ORWA is a free web-based program for evaluating the geometry and stability of surface wedges defined by two intersecting discontinuity planes and a slope surface. This Program has been rewritten by java, html as well as php to make it available directly from the internet.

ORWA is non-commercial and free to use. If you have questions or comments, please contact me at roozbehg@live.com.
